In 1993, Bill DeWitt noticed something missing in the D.C. metro landscape industry. On one side were the large national landscape companies that treated properties like numbers on a spreadsheet. On the other side were the small local operators who’d show up, cut the grass, and disappear until next week. Somewhere in between was an opportunity to bring value and be different—to create a company that combined professional expertise with genuine personal care.
That vision became Community Landscape Services.
What began as a single person’s commitment to filling a service gap has evolved into the premier commercial landscape management firm in the region.
